Terms of service & Warranty.
J&J Electrical Enterprise LLC
1. General Information
These Terms of Service and Warranty (“Terms”) govern electrical services and related work performed by J&J Electrical Enterprise LLC (“J&J,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By engaging our services, using our website, or accepting any estimate or invoice, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
These Terms are a general statement of policies and do not replace any written contract for a specific project. If there is a conflict between a signed contract and these Terms, the signed contract will control.
2. Scope of Work
We provide electrical installation, repair, maintenance, and related services as described in our estimates, proposals, or work orders.
Any descriptions of services on our website are for general information only and do not guarantee specific results or methods.
We may refuse or discontinue service where site conditions are unsafe, non-compliant, or outside our usual scope of work.
3. Code Compliance and Standards
- Work is performed in accordance with applicable electrical codes and standards in effect at the time of service, and with generally accepted industry practices.
- We are not responsible for pre-existing code violations, unsafe conditions, or defects that were not reasonably visible or disclosed prior to or during the work.
4. Pricing, Estimates, and Payment
- Any prices or ranges shown on our website are estimates for informational purposes only and are not binding offers.
- Actual pricing is provided through written estimates, proposals, or invoices and may vary based on conditions, materials, and project complexity.
- Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due as stated on the invoice; late or non‑payment may result in additional fees, interest, and suspension of services.
- Deposits or progress payments may be required for larger projects.
5. Changes and Additional Work
- Changes to the scope of work, discovery of hidden conditions, or additional customer requests may result in extra charges.
- Additional work will generally be documented in updated estimates, change orders, or revised invoices as required under New Jersey home improvement laws for work over 500 dollars.
6. Access and Site Conditions
- We require safe, reasonable access to the work area, including electrical panels, equipment, and relevant spaces.
- You are responsible for ensuring that the work area is clear of obstacles and hazards and that necessary utilities (such as power and lighting) are available.
7. Materials and Equipment
- Unless otherwise stated in writing, we supply materials and equipment that meet applicable standards and are appropriate for the intended use.
- Specific brands or models may vary and are used at our discretion unless a particular product is agreed upon in writing.
- Owner‑supplied materials and equipment are not covered under our equipment warranty and may affect overall warranty coverage as described below.
8. Workmanship and Equipment Warranty (1 Year)
- J&J provides a limited warranty on our workmanship for one (1) year from the date of completion of the service, unless otherwise stated in writing.
- J&J provides a limited warranty for one (1) year from the date of completion on contractor‑supplied equipment and materials installed by us, subject to the exclusions below.
- This warranty covers defects directly resulting from our workmanship and defects in contractor‑supplied equipment as determined by us after inspection.
- Our obligation under this warranty is, at our option, to repair, replace, or re‑perform the defective portion of the work or equipment.
9. Warranty Exclusions
The following are **not** covered by our workmanship and equipment warranty:
- Normal wear and tear, misuse, abuse, neglect, or lack of proper maintenance.
- Damage caused by others, including other contractors, homeowners, occupants, or pets.
- Damage or failures due to acts of nature or external events (for example: storms, flooding, lightning, power surges, utility company issues, fire, or vandalism).
- Pre‑existing problems or defects in wiring, equipment, or structure that were not installed by J&J. [8]
- Owner‑supplied materials or equipment, or any contractor‑supplied materials that have been altered or modified by others.
- Alterations, modifications, or repairs performed by others after our work is completed.
- Cosmetic issues that do not affect safe operation or functionality.
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including lost income, spoiled food, or business interruption).
10. Manufacturer Warranties
- Products and equipment we install may also be covered by separate manufacturer warranties with their own terms and conditions.
- If there is a conflict between our warranty and a manufacturer warranty, the manufacturer warranty governs the manufacturer’s obligations.
- We do not control manufacturer decisions; at our discretion, we may assist with reasonable documentation for a manufacturer claim.
11. Warranty Claims
- Warranty claims must be reported to us within the applicable one‑year warranty period.
- You may be asked to provide proof of service such as an invoice, work order, or installation date.
- We reserve the right to inspect the work, materials, and equipment before determining whether an issue is covered by warranty.
- If a service visit is requested and the issue is found not to be covered by warranty, our standard service and trip charges will apply.
12. No Guarantee of Existing Systems
- Electrical systems and equipment can be affected by age, prior workmanship, manufacturer defects, and other conditions beyond our control.
- We do not guarantee the performance, capacity, or future reliability of existing wiring, panels, circuits, or equipment that we did not install, even if our work connects to or interacts with them.
13. Safety and Use
- Electrical systems and equipment must be used only as intended and in accordance with instructions, labels, and applicable codes.
- You are responsible for promptly notifying us or another qualified professional if you observe unusual operation, tripping breakers, burning smells, sparking, or other signs of electrical problems.
14. Scheduling and Delays
- Service dates and times are estimates and may change due to weather, emergencies, parts availability, scheduling conflicts, or other conditions beyond our control.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by third parties, permitting authorities, inspections, or utility companies.
15. Termination of Services
- We may refuse or discontinue service at any time for safety concerns, non‑payment, harassment, or other reasonable cause.
- You may cancel or reschedule appointments subject to any cancellation policies or fees we post or communicate.
16. Updates to These Terms
- We may update or modify these Terms periodically.
- The version posted on our website at the time of service generally applies to that service, unless superseded by a separate written agreement.
17. Governing Law and Disputes
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict‑of‑law rules.
- We encourage good‑faith efforts to resolve any concerns directly with J&J Electrical Enterprise LLC. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in New Jersey, unless a separate written agreement specifies otherwise.
